Opportunities and growth at Oxford Aunts

If you are considering starting a rewarding career in care, you may ask yourself, how do I train to become a live-in carer? We are here to help answer this question.

Although formal carer qualifications can be beneficial for showing your knowledge and skills, at Oxford Aunts we look beyond qualifications and consider experience across a range of care settings. This includes residential care or nursing homes, home care agencies or rest homes. If you have previously worked as a nurse, we believe that you will have the skills to be an Oxford Aunts carer. We will also consider experience gained from volunteering with charities involved in supporting disabled or older people.

Our aim is to look for individuals who are empathetic and have a strong desire to help others, however we support all our workers wishing to obtain further training and qualifications.

Developing with Oxford Aunts

From day one we want everyone at Oxford Aunts to start their role with confidence when visiting their clients home.  This is why we offer training, supervision, coaching, mentoring and in placement support to enable all carers to perform their role to the best standard. Each year we have refresher training available for all our carers to develop their skills to ensure they have all the up-to-date knowledge in care to provide an on-going exceptional service with confidence.  At Oxford Aunts we strongly believe in taking care of everything for our carers – in terms of training and support, so that they can take care of everything for our clients.
