TYPES OF HOME CARE WE PROVIDE IN BICESTER

There are many things to consider when choosing home care for yourself or a loved one. You may need clarification on which type of care can best holistically meet all your needs. Oxford Aunts makes arranging care as simple as possible by offering two main options: round-the-clock, live-in care and flexible hourly care. Find out more about our home care services in Bicester.

VISITING HOME CARE IN OXFORDSHIRE

If you need help with cooking your favourite meals or continuing your social activities, such as visits to Bicester Heritage, home care might be the right option for you. Our care workers can provide support with personal care, companionship, and light housekeeping, with visits as short as one hour per day, three times a week.

Care needs vary for each individual, and our services are flexible enough to meet a wide range of requirements. To determine if home care is suitable for you, we will conduct a home care assessment to identify the necessary support. Based on this assessment, we will create a personalised care plan tailored uniquely to you.

Our experienced carers will support your daily routine to ensure that care is delivered in a way that best meets your wishes, improving your well-being and quality of life.

  • Flexible care, as much or as little as needed
  • Personalised care tailored to your needs and wishes
  • Help with housework, personal care, nurse-led care and mobility support
  • Experienced carers matched to your personality, interests and values.

LIVE-IN HOME CARE IN BICESTER

Live-in care is when a carer stays in your home to provide care as and when required. This option is popular for those with more complex needs, such as multiple sclerosis, late stage dementia, and Parkinson’s. An experienced Oxford Aunts carer can provide you with full-time support, all within the comfort of your own home, so that you can continue to live your life independently.

By choosing Oxford Aunts, you can remain comfortable at home without the upheaval of moving into residential care. With the added benefit of live-in care provided by a fully managed and regulated provider, you receive exceptional care while we handle the logistics of paying, managing, and supervising your care service.

The training we provide our care workers covers a wide range of areas, including dementia care, safeguarding, medication administration, and end-of-life care. We will carefully match you with a carer who aligns with your personality, preferences, and interests. This allows lasting relationships to be built, ensuring you are comfortable with the individual taking care of you.

Our live-in care includes:

  • Full time support (24/7)
  • Personalised care tailored to your needs
  • Nurse-led care for complex health conditions
  • An experienced carer with the right skills and experience

Care Manager

I started my career as a nurse having qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1987. For seven years I was a Practice Nurse at a GP practice before I started my family. When I returned to work, I decided to become a carer working for a domiciliary care agency providing hourly care to older people, where I progressed my career and became a Care Manager. I joined Oxford Aunts in 2019 and whilst my previous care role gave me good experience, I am thrilled to be working for a provider that offers quality live-in care, that truly enhances the lives of its clients.

As Care Manager at Oxford Aunts, I am responsible for ensuring our clients and their families have a dedicated point of contact who truly understands their requirements and can support their service. I have a deep understanding of our carers, not just in terms of their skills and experience, but their personalities and values. This means I can effectively match our carers with clients to ensure, not just their care needs are met but that the carer is aligned to how the client wishes to live their life. I work closely with our Care Assessor which means our clients have a highly personalised care plan that accurately reflect their needs. As part of our multidisciplinary approach to care I work closely with other healthcare professionals, including district nurses, physiotherapist and occupational therapists to ensure a holistic approach to care delivery.

Care Assessor

I am originally from New Zealand, where I started my career in a hospital setting where I was a Senior Care Assistant in a Specialist Dementia Care Unit. I decided to come to the UK to develop my career further in care, whilst spending time with my grandparents.

I joined Oxford Aunts in November 2015 as a live-in carer. Having researched a number of live-in care providers to potentially work for, Oxford Aunts was the stand- out choice given its reputation for providing high-quality care in Oxfordshire. I have been supported by the team in my role and afforded an opportunity to develop my career and I am now a Care Assessor. I feel privileged to support people to live safely and happily in the comfort of their own home, with all the benefits that brings. I am proud to be part of the Oxford Aunts team, who have the welfare of their clients at heart.

As a Care Assessor at Oxford Aunts, I am responsible for ensuring our clients can live well in their own homes with care and support from our live-in carer, whilst providing both the client, their families and our carers any support they may need. From the initial assessment of a client’s needs to the on-going review of our service, I provide high levels of support to ensure the standards of care Oxford Aunts are renowned for.

I have an NZQA National Certificate in the Support of the Older Person.
