In addition, we appoint a dedicated local Care Assessor who works with you, your family and your carer to ensure that everyone is happy with the care provision. A multidisciplinary approach

We are dedicated to delivering unrivalled live-in care services in Botley, which is why we have worked so hard to build strong relationships with healthcare professionals in the community. As well as GPs, district nurses and local Integrated Care Boards, we have strong links with local charitable organisations and community health and social care services. This enables us to provide a holistic approach to care that ensures our client’s health and wellbeing are always at the fore. We find that this approach has helped us reduce unnecessary hospital admissions and ensure swifter, less stressful discharge when hospital stays are necessary.

We have developed strong relationships with those responsible for hospital discharge at the following local hospitals:

  • Royal Hampshire County Hospital
  • Basingstoke and North Hants Hospital

MEET YOUR LOCAL CARE
MANAGEMENT TEAM IN OXFORDSHIRE

Many of our clients are based in and around Oxfordshire so we have three regional teams made up of a Care Assessor and Care Manager who may support you and your family whilst we are providing live-in care to you.

Parmjit DulaiI started my career as a nurse having qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1987. For seven years I was a Practice Nurse at a GP practice before I started my family. When I returned to work, I decided to become a carer working for a domiciliary care agency providing hourly care to older people, where I progressed my career and became a Care Manager. I joined Oxford Aunts in 2019 and whilst my previous care role gave me good experience, I am thrilled to be working for a provider that offers quality live-in care, that truly enhances the lives of its clients.

As Care Manager at Oxford Aunts, I am responsible for ensuring our clients and their families have a dedicated point of contact who truly understands their requirements and can support their service. I have a deep understanding of our carers, not just in terms of their skills and experience, but their personalities and values. This means I can effectively match our carers with clients to ensure, not just their care needs are met but that the carer is aligned to how the client wishes to live their life. I work closely with our Care Assessor which means our clients have a highly personalised care plan that accurately reflect their needs. As part of our multidisciplinary approach to care I work closely with other healthcare professionals, including district nurses, physiotherapist and occupational therapists to ensure a holistic approach to care delivery.

Parmjit Dulai

Hi, I am Claire Maxwell, Care Assessor for Region 3. I have been with Oxford Aunts since January this year. I enjoy spending precious time with my family and having long weekends away in our caravan (Carly).

My journey in health and social care began after my children had started school full-time. I wanted to try something new. When I left school, I worked in a private nursery caring for young children ranging from 3 months to 12 years. After being a mum, I fancied a new challenge, and caring for the elderly caught my attention – something I could really get job satisfaction from.

My work history began in domiciliary care, working locally to Oxford supporting a wide variety of amazing people. This is when I started my first NVQ training, which led me to expand my knowledge and my passion for care.

Before joining the team at Oxford Aunts, I was a Registered Manager for a small local domiciliary agency where I was responsible for the management of a care team, weekly rotas, resource management, team development and training, maintaining business compliance, and enabling an outstanding delivery of care. During this period, I was also responsible for carrying out assessments and reviews. I also completed care calls, and I loved being able to engage with the service users and support them to continue to live independently.

I have experience with dementia, palliative care, PEG feeding, and medication administration. I’ve completed training as a trainer in manual handling and hold the following qualifications:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Adult Care
  • Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Adults)
  • Level 3 Dementia Pathway
  • Level 3 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Social Care
  • Level 2 Employment Responsibilities and Rights in Health and Social Care
  • Level 2 Functional Skills Maths and English
  • Moving and Handling (Practical and Theory)
  • Health and Safety
  • Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults
  • First Aid
  • Fire Training
  • Safe Administration of Medication

Being part of the team at Oxford Aunts, I work with people whose experiences and knowledge expand widely across the care sector, and who share the same passions for delivering high-quality live-in care.

OTHER REASONS TO CHOOSE OXFORD AUNTS FOR HIGH-QUALITY LIVE-IN CARE

Expert carer matching

Over the past 50 years we have established a reputation for matching carers with our clients to ensure they meet all their needs – this is not just about matching skills, but making sure personalities are aligned so both client and carer can enjoy life together. Depending on the level of care required, it will determine not just the cost of your care, but the experience we expect your carer to have to ensure the high standards of care we are renowned for throughout Botley and beyond.

Continuity of care makes all the difference

Our carers will come and live with you to provide care and support for a longer period than might be offered by other live-in care providers. We know that this gives an opportunity for a strong relationship to be formed and a deeper understanding of our clients’ care needs offering consistency and continuity of care.
